Encourage Mindful Hiring Practices.

  • Hire leaders that have the identity that you would want your work culture to reflect.
  • More specifically, we want to hire inclusive, energetic, passionate, empathetic, and knowledgeable leaders to set the tone for a positive work environment where team members will want to work every day.
  • If you don’t feel empowered by the person you are hiring to lead your team, your team members will likely feel the same way.
  • Hire leaders who would see the value of establishing an open-door policy, which allows for supervisor accessibility.
  • Establish balanced structural leadership systems that adequately support the number of staff you have, which can reduce supervisor burn out.

Ignite Modern Workplace Culture.

  • Ingrain primary themes of Flexibility and Relationship Connection.
  • Create an environment where the leader leads with care and holds their team accountable with gentleness.
  • We want to support creating confident Leaders and team members. Confident people will likely do a better job than less confident people.
  • Create a culture that believes in the value of collaboration. The more support we have, the less burdensome we feel, which can improve goal accomplishment.
  • Encourage taking designated breaks, vacations, and offer work from home options, when possible.

Prioritize investing in relationship rapport building.

  • Show acts of kindness and care for your team. (When you reduce hardship and barriers, your team members will naturally feel empowered to do a good job).
  • Celebrate meaningful life achievements of team members (Birthdays, New Births, Holidays) through acknowledgement or celebration.
  • Frequently engage in individual and team conversations to check in on staff personally and professionally.
  • Reinforce team building through ice breakers, team building activities, luncheons, and encourage seeking and embracing support from fellow team members, when essential.

Create an Affordable mental health budget that covers employee wellness needs, such as:

  • Mental wellness committees that help to manage the organization of employee appreciation luncheons, team building activities, paid mental health days, and décor that reinforces mental wellness.
  • Create an environment that is inviting, clean, organized, and has paint colors that evoke positive or calming emotions.
