Therapeutic Biography

My name is Tatiana Richardson. I am a fully licensed Psychotherapist, Christian, and published Author, who offers my relational human experience, clinical knowledge, and supportive space to help people heal. I utilize a direct and interactive strengths based approach to get to know my clients, so that I can best support them along their pursuit of healing. I am a Michigan State University Alumni, who has obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Social Work degree in Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University. I am certified in Core Supervision by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), which allows me to supervise limited licensed clinical social workers along their pursuit of full licensure.

I have worked with various populations across my 7-year post-graduate career, including children, teens, adults, and older adults, within non-profit, state government, and private sector work. I have ultimately found my comfort and specific interest in working closely with individual adults aged 18 years and older, presenting with mood disorders, trauma, self-esteem issues, and adjustment problems. Should you choose to entrust me with your therapeutic treatment, you can expect that I will offer you what I believe is a clinically appropriate evidence-based intervention that is in alignment with my skill set, and I will always strive to honor you and your story with grace, regard, and inclusion.

The truth beyond the name

I chose the name Pursuit of Healing, because I believe that all people who encounter the therapy journey are on a pursuit of healing. I chose a butterfly to graphically represent my practice, because it constitutes the delightful outcome of a transformative process. I believe that you can experience the butterfly effect through intentionality and dedication to your healing journey. I specifically chose a Monarch butterfly because it is the King of Butterflies. It represents strength, guidance, and evolution. It is my intention to guide you through that transformative process of healing through the vehicle of relationship, clinical support, empowerment, and faith. Although no outcome is guaranteed, I can confidently say that so long as you offer your best effort to the process of healing, you will allow yourself to undergo the transformative process of healing that at times feels less than desirable, but over time becomes the greatest personal investment that you could ever make. Always remember, intentionality is key!

    Testimonial

"Our organization's mission is to support the people behind Michigan's business community, business owners, their teams, and stakeholders within Michigan's economy. As is the case with many leaders, folks are dealing with burnout and mental health challenges themselves, while also trying to support their teams and colleagues. When People First reached out to Tatiana, it was with the idea that we could work together to build something unique that would meet the needs of our specific audience. Not only was Tatiana a significant thought partner in the creation of content, but our audiences also benefited from direct connection with a clinician that is approachable, has a human-centered approach to her work, and has significant expertise. People First Economy plans to work with Tatiana in the future as our programming evolves."
